Parasailing As A Sport

Nelly Furtado sings “I’m Like A Bird”. If you are curious how that’s like, then try parasailing.

Once you’re hooked, you’re singing “Defying Gravity” like Elphaba on “Wicked” high up in the sky. You can even try touching the clouds and reaching for the rainbow. Imagine soaring high above green pastures and blue mountains.

Parasailing has been around for more than twenty years. It is an adventure sport which numerous adventurous and risk-taking individuals have experimented with whenever they get the chance. Thanks to Jet Boats available, more and more individuals are discovering for themselves the pleasures parasailing has to offer.

In fact, try checking out the beaches. Chances are you’ll see Parasailing lifting riders. All over the United States of America, people heading to the ocean have brightly colored parachutes included in their sports boats.

In parasailing, you’ll need a boat that has 90HP – at least. Make sure you have a parasail canopy as well as a body harness and towline. These are the basic parasailing equipment.

The area for take-off and flight must have no obstacles like ropes, power lines and trees. As long as you have an observer, skilled driver, two men on the ground and winds going in your favor, you’re ready to fly high up the sky.

Parasailing has become so popular that canopies are custom made. Some of which are designed to fit when flown up in the sky. These kinds resist the wind. Called the HLLD or the High Lift Low Drag, these parachutes are inflated by Winch Boats using Launch Bar systems.

Before you take off, inspect the gear and ensure that your flight won't encounter any problems. The wind mustn't go beyond 15mph. Wear a helmet, life vest and feet protection.

You, the flyer, steps on the harness and hooks this into the parachute. Let the crew assist you with this so that you are safe. The boat then sails off the tow line and extends in its full length.

The flight crew holds both sides of the chute. A person beckons the signal to take flight. You shouldn’t run to where the boat is. Instead, resist the pull in so that the line is maintaining your balance. Take a couple of steps on the lift off area.

Enjoy the view up in the sky. Parasailing is breathtaking and absolutely thrilling for people who love being around nature. So what are you waiting for? The skies are up there – all for you.
